Rapunzel

One young girl was sent out into a forest full of hungry wolves, another did all the housework for seven little men and then her step-mother tried to poison her.

One other scrubbed and cleaned and cooked waiting to try on a lost glass shoe so that she could marry a prince. One young woman had to sleep for a hundred years waiting for her prince to turn up; another could not sleep at all, and had to be be extremely sensitive to prove that she was of royal blood and suitable for a princely marriage.

And how do you feel about having to kiss a frog?

My favourite is Rapunzel, named after a root vegetable, imprisoned in a tower, and then had a strange prince climb up her long hair with some unexpected consequences.

This is a good website to read all the fairy tales by the Grimm Brothers.
