Iris Steensma - printmaker: Mature Mermaids

It occurred to me in the middle of the night. Why are all mermaids young, beautiful and seductive? What happens to the ones that are past their prime? It kept me awake until the early morning. So here they are, mermaids, not sitting on rocks luring sailors to a watery grave with their songs, but instead coping with everyday life.
