Iris Steensma - printmaker: Seasons

Each image is approximately 28.5 cm by 11 cm. With these four images I experimented with embossing the paper so that the unprinted white areas have a texture. I also cut a block for each colour, but instead of printing each colour separately I placed the smaller inked block inside a space cut in the larger block which had been inked with a different colour. "The Winter Balloon" was the first one, but I felt that she needed some companions and this resulted in my women for all seasons.
